Things to Do in Colorado Springs This Weekend: July 6-8, 2012
This weekend’s mild temperatures– highs of 74 on Saturday and 72 on Sunday–should provide the perfect backdrop for an active, outdoorsy weekend here in Colorado Springs. Take a hike through one of our beautiful parks–most of which have been reopened, since the Waldo Canyon fire is nearing full containment–or pull out the bikes for a family ride. A tennis match, a round of golf, or a lazy morning by the pool should also be great options. In case thunderstorms roll into our city and require a change of plans, here are a few other ideas for how to keep your family busy this weekend. Enjoy!
- Homemade Ice Cream Cooking Demonstration — Friday, 3 pm, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s Grizzly Grill. New this summer, join the award-winning chefs at Grizzly Grill every Friday at 3:00 p.m. for special cooking demonstrations. Sample some of their favorites or ask them your cooking questions. You’ll definitely want to try these great recipes at home! Regular zoo admission applies. This Friday, they’ll be preparing homemade ice cream (garden mint chocolate, banana churro).
